COVID-19 Safety Policies

Dear friend of the Artesian,

Over the last two years we have gotten very used to adjusting with the ever-changing COVID-19 situation, and now is no different. With COVID-19 very much still present in our community we feel like we must do whatever we can to protect those who attend our events as well as the dedicated staff, volunteers, and artists who make these events happen. As such, our current COVID-19 safety policy is as follows:

PLEASE NOTE: If you are reading this policy it is in effect, regardless of the date. Out of an abundance of caution we are maintaining COVID-19 safety precautions despite the SK government lifting their provincial restrictions on March 1st, 2022. We reevaluate our policies regularly and will update this page as soon as changes are made.

All patrons, staff, volunteers, and artists attending and/or working public events at the Artesian must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination. This means you must have received a second dose of either the Pfiezer or Moderna vaccines or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two weeks prior to the day of the show you wish to attend.

We will accept either of the following as proof, as long as your name is clearly visible:


2. A printed copy or screencap of your immunization record from eHealth Saskatchewan or a pharmacy.

2. The fully completed card you received when you got your vaccinations or a photograph of said card.

For any of these documents your name must be clearly visible, and you must have valid photo ID that matches. If the staff and volunteers on site are unable to reasonably verify your proof of vaccine (this sometimes happens when using the paper card you received when you got your vaccinations) you may not be admitted. Using the SK Vax Wallet app on your phone is the easiest and most reliable proof of vaccination you can provide and we strongly encourage the use of this vaccine proof.

If you are unable to provide proof of vaccination we will accept a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of the event start time. The test must be provided by a third-party testing provider, your name must be clearly visible on the test documentation, and you must have photo ID to match.

For some  of our events we choose to decrease the capacity of those in attendance or limit bar service in order to further mitigate the risk of COVID-19 exposure. Please check individual event details or email to inquire.

The Artesian recognizes not everyone has a positive relationship with their legal name. If you, for whatever reason, would rather not share your legal name, alternate arrangements can be made. Vaccinations can be verified using health card numbers in lieu of legal names, or information can be held on file so that you only have to share this sensitive information once. Additionally, while inside the Artesian all patrons, staff, and performers are required to wear a mask at all times unless actively eating or drinking or on stage to perform. For most events at the Artesian we continue to serve refreshments in our basement lounge, which can be brought upstairs and enjoyed in our auditorium during the show. However, we ask that you adjust your mask ONLY when actively eating or drinking and keep it on while conversing with other patrons, during the show, etc. Unless the drink is on your lips you must have your mask on. Our staff will ask patrons not actively eating or drinking to keep their mask over their nose and mouth and will remove patrons if they require repeated reminders.

There are other things you can do to keep us all safe when attending events at the Artesian! Rapid test kits are available at all Regina Public Library branches and we encourage anyone coming to the Artesian for an event to take a test before the event, ideally as close to arriving at the venue as possible. This policy is subject to change as public health information develops and we plan to reevaluate it on a monthly basis. Our priority remains to protect the patrons, staff, volunteers, and artists that make our events happen. We thank you for your cooperation and support at this challenging time and encourage all members of our community to continue to wash your hands, wear masks when you are in public settings, and get your vaccinations as soon as possible if you are able.
