We encourage board candidates who are existing patrons and/or practicing artists with a passion for regularly attending events, have an outside revisioning for innovation or ideas of the space, venue operational knowledge and experience, assistance with diversified programming, embedding our diversity plan to join with us to execute on our future strategy for this organization.

Artesian Performing Arts recognizes that in Canada, legacies of oppression are perpetuated through, among other things, recruitment practices. These practices are influenced by structures such as racism, cissexism, heterosexism, ableism, classism, and sexism. Within the arts, this results in the continued privileging of perspectives, preventing our sector from being truly equitable and just. We are currently seeking board members who identify as members of equity-seeking groups. This includes Indigenous people; Black people; people of colour; two-Spirit, queer, trans, and non-binary people; disabled people, including (but not limited to) those who experience mental illness and those with learning disabilities; working-class people, including (but not limited to) people who currently experience or have experienced poverty and/or homelessness; and women.

Artesian Performing Arts is committed to a working culture that is free of discrimination, violence, and harrassment.

As an organization, the Artesian values

- Creativity and collaboration                                       - Meaningful partnerships
- Community engagement                                           - Diversity and inclusion
- Accountability and reliability                                      - Sustainability in all we do

Our vision is to foster a diverse community through access to a unique, inclusive, and supportive event space.

Our mission is to bring community experiences to life by:

- Elevating artists and arts organizations with a collaborative approach;
- Hosting events that serve our community and community partners;
- Offering an intimate and engaging patron experience in an inclusive, safe, and inviting space;

- Committing to understanding our social impact while striving to meet our community’s needs.

The organization employs an Artistic Director, Dana Rempel, an Operations Director, Bruno Hernani and additional staff – casual bartenders, front-of-house staff, technicians, and custodial support – are all hired on a casual basis.
