About the artists:
Plains
Plains (Cam Weist) is a Regina-based DJ, producer, live modular performer, and mixed-media artist whose career spans more than 25 years in underground dance culture. Previously known under the monikers Mike Trues, F-Stop, and Acoostix, Wiest built his reputation through deep house and techno sets that shared lineups with tastemakers such as DJ Sneak, DJ Dan, Hatiras, Johnny Fiasco, Jay Tripwire, and Dubtribe Soundsystem, while remaining firmly rooted in Canada's prairie scene.
In 2010, Wiest founded Liquid Soul Recordings in Vancouver, BC - a forward thinking imprint that released 27 titles under a transparent, zero-fee model designed to support emerging artists during a period of rapid digital transformation in the industry. The label marked a turning point in his creative trajectory, shifting his focus toward production and artist-driven infrastructure.
Today, performing as Plains, Wiest delivers improvised live modular house and techno sets built entirely in real time. Eschewing pre-arranged playlists, Plains constructs rhythm, texture, and movement from hardware systems on stage - creating performances that are raw, kinetic and deeply responsive to the energy of the room. There are no setlists in the realm of improvised techno! The project bridges DJ culture, analog synthesis, and immersive visual experimentation.
Beyond performance, Wiest is an active cultural organizer. In 2025, he launched HouseTechnoRockAndRoll, an underground collective dedicated to revitalizing Regina's dance community through intentional curation and community-centered events. He also coordinates art installations for the Emotion Arts & Music Festival, helping to integrate visual art, technology, and spatial design into large-scale cultural experiences. Check out his interactive visuals fever dream - "The Oculary" this summer!
With renewed momentum and a hardware-driven live show, Plains continues to evolve - bringing a veteran's sensibility to forward-facing underground performance.
MVK11
MVK11 is a Regina-based DJ with over 8 years of experience commanding dancefloors across clubs, festivals, and major events. Starting out as an open-format DJ, he built a reputation on versatility and crowd intuition - performing at standout events like Party on the Dirt, opening for live acts at Queen City Ex, and holding a three-season residency as the official DJ for the Regina Pats. Alongside these milestones, he has played countless private events, sharpening a performance style rooted in adaptability and energy.
In 2026, MVK11 is entering a new chapter, shifting his focus toward Regina's growing electronic music scene. With a sound centered around House and Techno, he blends underground textures with the dynamic pacing of an open-format background. The result is a style that feels both polished and raw - built for late nights, packed floors, and evolving energy.
Whether delivering warm-up grooves or driving peak time momentum, MVK11 brings a modern, dancefloor-focused approach that bridges mainstream experience with underground influence.
Charles Simpson
This Glasgow born DJ now based in Regina, Charles Simpson is the founder and driving force behind houseparty — a movement built on the new generation, the pioneers who have come before, community energy, and uncompromising underground sound.
Cutting his teeth in Glasgow’s raw warehouse rave scene, Charles was shaped by pounding basslines, strobe-lit concrete spaces, and marathon sets that blurred night into morning. Those formative years forged a deep respect for the roots of house and techno - music that’s less about spectacle and more about connection.
A relentless explorer of sound, they immersed themselves in European dance culture, drawing inspiration from the hedonistic pulse of Ibiza, the precision and groove of Amsterdam, and the dark, industrial heartbeat of Berlin. Those cities sharpened their sound: driving yet soulful, hypnotic yet high-energy - always designed for the dance floor.
Now channeling that global influence into the Canadian prairies, Charles brings an international edge to every set and every houseparty event. Whether commanding an intimate room or a packed warehouse, their mission remains the same: create space for freedom, movement, and unity through music.
This is more than a party, it's houseparty. It’s a feeling. And it starts on the dance floor.
