Creative City Centre presents Regina Word Up Open Mic Night!

Time: 7:00-9:00 pm (SK time), doors open and open mic sign up starts at 6:30 pm 
Price: $5.00 or pay what you can at the door

We are patiently waiting for the renovations on our new facility to be completed, but until that time, we are presenting our spoken word events at the Artesian on 13th. We are grateful to the Artesian for welcoming us into their space!

Feature performer: 

Angelic Goldsky (t[he?]y) [aka Angelic Vers & Angelicunt] incants at the crossroads of poetry, performance, MCing, community imagining, media art and spiritual mercy. A queer and trans magician and curse-talker, rooted in a diasporic lineage of Post-Soviet Jewitch heritage, they are immersed in the uses of the poetic, music, and magic for transmuting complex trauma into rhythm, release, and ultimately, permanent liberation. Formerly the Poet in Residence at the Roundhouse Community Centre (2021), Angelic was shortlisted for the Canadian League of Poets Canadian Spoken Word Award (2024) and represented Canada in the LGBTQ+ showcase at the World Poetry Championship in Brussels (2022).

We encourage audience members to engage during the performances – snap, make cheesecake noises (mm’s and yes), laugh, stomp, or otherwise make your appreciation known!
