Roy Earl Anderson’s songwriting echoes the countless hours spent enjoying music with family and friends. As Roy Earl Anderson and the Postmen prepare to head into the studio in 2025, Roy is taking the opportunity to return to the Artesian for an intimate solo show - ‘from the floor’. Roy will be joined by Ross Neilsen, one of Saskatoon’s premier finger-style blues guitarists … and inaugural member of the Postmen. The evening will include acoustic versions of songs performed by Roy Earl Anderson and the Postmen during the 2024 Saskatchewan ‘tour’, a curated mix of cover tunes, and a few firsts.

Roy Earl Anderson is a singer/songwriter living in Lumsden, Saskatchewan. Roy performed at many of the acoustic venues that existed back in the early 80s, and went on to front The MuckRakers, a Saskatoon-based blues and roots band. A musical partnership with Darrell Burko grew from their time together with the MuckRakers, and AndersonBurko staged multiple tours across Saskatchewan and Alberta, releasing three albums of original music. In 2024, Roy Earl Anderson and the Postmen became a thing, with shows in Saskatoon and Regina. The group will be heading into the studio in 2025 to record their first album.

Ross Neilsen has released ten recordings, performed several thousand concerts, driven more than a million kilometers and has toured Canada dozens of times. Neilsen has been honoured with multiple nominations at The Maple Blues Awards including Songwriter of the Year in 2017, two Rising Star nominations from CBC, back-to-back Blues Album of the Year nominations from the East Coast Music Association, over half a dozen nominations for MusicNB awards, including wins for Best Blues Recording (Redemption 2010 and The Shack Up Sessions 2013).
