Light Up the Village 2025 at the Artesian

Join us at the Artesian for an evening of creativity, music, and community as part of Light Up the Village 2025 - Cathedral Village’s annual celebration of local business, lights, and neighbourhood spirit. Make something by hand, listen to music, and enjoy the festivities.

The Artesian is wheelchair accessible, all-ages, and a proud supporter of positive spaces initiatives with a zero-tolerance policy towards hate, harassment, and/or discrimination. We reserve the right to remove any patron creating an unsafe environment. The accessible entrance is available via a lift, Please ask staff for help if necessary.

What’s happening at The Artesian:

-All-ages art workshop - drop in for a hands-on creative activity (details to come)
-Mini-market - a small, curated selection of local artists and makers
-Vinyl Hang spinning records throughout the evening
-Hot drinks 
-Bar and lounge open downstairs for cocktails and conversation
-Lantern pick-up and procession

If you attended our lantern-making workshop on November 29 & 30, you can pick up your lantern at The Artesian on December 4.

Join our lantern procession down 13th Avenue, or bring your lantern with you as you explore the village and help light up the night.

Come by anytime - start your evening here, end it, or just drop in along the way. Make art, grab a drink, and enjoy the Light Up the Village festivities.

  • Michif Beadwork

Michif beadwork is a small queer/Indigenous owned business that sells modern Métis beadwork! It is owned and operated primarily by Moe Penner, a queer, Métis, Trans man. He makes almost all of the products that are sold here with some help from his mother, Momma Penner.

  • Koi Embroidery

I’m Daillin, and I have been embroidering for a few years now. Embroidering started as a creative outlet for me that helped offset the stress of school, but has grown into something more :) I love creating custom commissions, botanical pieces, and embroidering on clothing. I love creating something new and adding a bit of whimsy into practical items!

  • Timberwolf Textiles

Timberwolf Textiles is rummaging through your Grandma’s linen closet to rework old textiles into wearable pieces and home decor. Bringing a trunk full of sweaters reworked with a one hundred year old quilt, jean jackets, as well as some summer stock at discounted prices! Always working on a new project, so throw me a follow if that’s your thing. Excited to take part in Light up the Village and chat with y’all! See you soooooon.

  • New Dance Horizons 40th Anniversary Shop

New Dance Horizons (NDH) is a Regina-based not-for-profit organization that since 1986, has presented local and internationally acclaimed dance shows, produced original works, and organized activities that engage both the dance community and the general public.

Craft Facilitators:

  • Mackenzy Vida

Mackenzy will be helping folks create shadow puppets as we explore play through light and forms. All materials are provided.

Mackenzy Vida is a visual artist from Treaty 4 Regina, SK with a focus on illustration, painting, and printmaking. Art therapy in early childhood ignited her passion for creativity. Her love for accessible art shines in art workshops and leading community art projects.

Vinyl Hang is focused on hanging out and sharing curated music from ours and our friend’s record collections. Whether it's classics, underground gems, or an obscurity dug out from the back of a dumpster halfway around the world, we play what we love and are here to add more noise to the world of vinyl DJs.
