Hello, Spring!

$30.00

May 1st is a traditional spring holiday in many cultures, and what better way to welcome this season than with music, poetry, and artisanal treats at the Artesian!

We are pleased to bring you a program featuring some of Regina’s finest musical talents including the sweet sounds of the Regina Symphony Chamber Players (who sound amazing in our space!) and Jack Semple (who always brings down the house!). The event will be hosted by Kaitlyn Semple and Greg Ochitwa, and poet Gerald Hill will offer some fun spoken words.

Regina’s own Hobo Donuts will be setting up a pop-up shop in our Lounge and, as always, we'll have some delicious libations on offer at the bar.

So, dear friends, come on over to the Artesian on Tuesday, May 1st and help us say Hello, Spring!

Doors & Lounge at 6:00PM. Show starts at 7:00PM.

Tickets are $30 in Advance or $35 at the Door. Proceeds from this concert directly support the ongoing work of the Artesian.

We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sun Life Financial for their sponsorship of this event.

The Regina Symphony Chamber Players (RSCP) is composed of the core players from the Regina Symphony Orchestra and they regularly engage in numerous performance, education, and outreach initiatives throughout southern Saskatchewan.

Jack Semple writes and performs "Modern Blues" without forgetting where he came from. He is an epic guitarist and a soulful singer. His music is like Stevie Ray Vaughn meets James Brown meets Robben Ford. He is a Juno Award winner and Western Canadian Music Award winner.

Two-time winner of the Saskatchewan Book Award for Poetry, Gerald Hill published his sixth poetry collection, Hillsdale Book, with NeWest Press, and A Round For Fifty Years: A History of Regina's Globe Theatre with Coteau Books, both in 2015. He was the Doris McCarthy Artist-in-Residence at Fool's Paradise in Toronto in 2015 and Poet Laureate of Saskatchewan in 2016.

Kaitlyn Semple is an actor, singer, dancer, teacher, multi-instrumentalist, and choreographer from Regina, SK. You can purchase Kaitlyn's album SPEAK EASY: At the Syncopation by sending her a message on her website: www.kaitlynsemple.com

Greg Ochitwa proudly works province-wide as a freelance writing, rap, and drama teacher. Most recently, he's become a lead instructor/mentor at Paper Crane Community Arts Centre, a community program run by Ranch Ehrlo, where the focus is on using the arts as a catalyst to well-being in our daily lives.
