"I Love Artesian" Fundraiser
Apr 27, 2024
Have you ever seen a performance on our stage that left you wanting more? Been swept up in an evening of thought-provoking poetry? Found yourself doubled over with laughter courtesy of Regina's finest comedians and improvisers? We take immense pride in the impact we have on our community and the unforgettable experiences we create within our venue and we want to celebrate that work with you during our "I Love Artesian" fundraiser on April 27th, 2024!
Any time you come to an event at the Artesian you help us do more of what we do in the community. But once a year we put together an event specifically to celebrate our community and raise funds to support the work we do. By buying a ticket and/or making a donation you are helping ensure that we can continue to enrich lives in our community through the arts. If you cherish what the Artesian represents, know that your contribution directly fuels our ongoing efforts to bring art, music, theatre, comedy, and more to Regina!
We've got loads of performers on the docket - this year, we are pleased to welcome The Garrys, Kris Alvarez, ka lok, Jayden Pfeifer, DJ Hendrika, and Cat Abenstein!

About The Garrys:
The Garrys are a band of siblings from the coldest part of the landlocked Canadian prairies. Formed in the spring of 2015, The Garrys use layered 3-part blood harmonies, hazy sun-bleached melodies, classic lo-fi guitar tones, and syncopated surf beats to create a unique “doom-wop” sound, dripping with dark nostalgia and touched by psychedelic dread. Their music is likely to leave you with an urge to do the Watusi, bittersweet thoughts about slow-dancing with your middle school crush, or a nagging feeling that it’s not quite safe to go back into the water.
About Kris Alvarez:
Treaty 4 artist Kris Alvarez is privileged to make relationships & art with Curtain Razors, Fadadance, Artesian, Globe Theatre, Common Weal, Scantily Glad, It’s Not a Box, RIWC, Dunlop Art Gallery, Neutral Ground, AKA Artist-Run, Persephone Theatre.
Kris performs in other people’s work (Bad Blood, Carmen Angel - Joey Tremblay), makes her own work (Golden Potluck, Burnt Sienna, Acknowledging), and moments before the pandemic, was humbled by the work (Reasonable Doubt - Joel Bernbaum, Yvette Nolan, Lancelot Knight).
Kris continues in film (Donkeyhead, Agam Darshi), in parks (Other Side of the River, Wâhkôhtowin, Sum Theatre), on TV (ZARQA, CBC Gem), onstage (2021-23 Making Spirits Bright, Globe Theatre dir. Jennifer Brewin), in creation (Banana Musik).
Summers 2022-2023, the Regina Folk Festival invited Burnt Sienna Boulevard, a reimagined version of Kris’ variety show now serving younger audiences.
Recently, Kris joined some amazing artists on Treaty 6 to collaborate on new work, Homebuddies (Scantily Glad, It’s Not a Box) and to present at the 2023 Prague Quadrennial. She returned to Saskatoon to perform in Persephone Theatre’s season opener (A Bright Half Life, dir. Kathryn Smith).
