Young Adult author Judith Silverthorne will read from Convictions, the harrowing story of a women- only convict ship on its way to Australia. Miriam Körner of La Ronge will present images and excerpts from Yellow Dog, a lively tale about friendship and dog sledding.

Judith Silverthorne is an award-winning author of children’s novels. She is also the author of two non-fiction adult books and a picture book. Convictions is her newest book. She has worked as an editor, evaluator, researcher, curator, book reviewer, television documentary producer and scriptwriter, and arts administrator. She lives in Regina.

Miriam Körner, originally from Germany, is a writer, photographer, illustrator and wilderness guide. She lives in a small cabin surrounded by her sled dogs near La Ronge, Saskatchewan. When she is not exploring the vast wilderness of Canada's Far North by dog team or canoe Miriam writes about her adventures. Yellow Dog is her first novel for young adults.
